Fall Living Magazine’s Mistress of Halloween, FALLON, invites all friends and foes to join in creating fun holiday crafts for the entire family. Watch her in-depth video below or follow our quick step-by-step instructions. These felines are front porch friendly, but please protect them from rain or direct sun. They also display well under blacklight.

In this step-by-step video, FALLON instructs making this magical cat, purrrfect to greet trick-or-treating guests.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
GLOW IN THE DARK FELINE PUMPKIN
PREP STEP SUPPLIES
The supplies needed are shown in the photo. Most are fundamental to any craft project with an addition of white glow-in-the-dark face paint and erasable liquid chalk.
STEP 1
On a clean, dry surface, apply acrylic paint. Depending on the pigment, two coats may be required (with drying time in between.) Leave an underneath section unpainted for a base.
STEP 2
Once dried (approximately 20 minutes) lightly sketch the design with a pencil.
STEP 3
Begin with the background color first, applying the lighter gray on top of the black base underneath to create depth.
STEP 4
Add in the nose, mouth and begin the eyes.
STEP 5
Whiskers and glints in the eyes add the final details to your Halloween kitty. See STEP 7 for tips on an added ‘GLOW.’
STEP 6
Better to hear you with, my dears…
No cat is complete without a set of pointy ears.
STEP 7
For added depth, apply layers of glow-in-the-dark paints for an eerie effect. Begin with Tulip Fabric Paint/color natural as a base coat, then use Mehron FX Face Paint with a sponge to cover larger areas and a q-tip or fingers for minor details. Mehron will supply extra glow and an overall evenness (be conservative with an application for too much may create an off hue.)
