Happy Mid-Way!

Everyday is Halloween, isn’t it?

—Tim Burton

You heard right.

Nope, not May Day—that’s a different day for a different site.

Today, my Halloween lovelies is a celestial midpoint—a reminder that those pesky spring flowers will soon succumb to the joy of fall’s chill, damp, and dreary.

Just kidding, spring flowers aren’t really all that bad, some are rather lovely to the point of withering in a vase… or a petals-face-up in a salad…

To the true lovers of the haunted season, today brings a warm ember to our frosty souls. We who worship amber-tinted leaves and warm spices in our teas, the day is ours.

How might you celebrate?

– Buy that normally forbidden bag of candy (although it will be hard to blame on buying for the neighbor kids while sliding into your shopping cart. But, where there is a will, there is a way.)

– Light darker-scented candles, the more mulled, the better…

– Take inventory! No one likes a boots-scarves-sweater-weather emergency. Stock up on pumpkin carving and seed roasting supplies. Avoid those last-minute late August/mid-September rushes.

– Envision your fall travel destination! With many fantastic deals offered in the latter part of the year, a change of scenery and of season will be a perfect pairing.

Our return this September…

I want to celebrate today by thanking those of you returning to our site over the long months we’ve been away. We are so happy to be returning and are introducing a new contributor, EVANGELINE who joins us this September. More about her and her YouTube channel, as well as her appearances on our site in the weeks to come.

Happy Mid-way to all and to all a good fright!
