Enchanted

During Halloween, as adults, do we secretly want to show the world that we really are? I think so!

Everyday, at work, we dress up appropriately and groom our selves. We make sure our words are appropriate and we hide the creative individuals we are inside. After all, we must fit in the box if we want to get a head, right?

Personally, everyday I go to work I feel like I am going to explode! I hide my emotions and I have to restrict my self from speaking my truth. After decades of adulthood, I feel the need to break these chains of restrictions. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Everyday, I see it in the eyes of others who have lost their inner desire to play. It is a very sad look. You know who you are.

Tomorrow morning, when you get out of bed, I want you to look in the mirror and think back to when you were a kid.

Think of what made you laugh and giggle. Think of what made you come to life and laugh out loud. After all, laughter is contagious. I want you to spend the day spreading the laughing juju germ!

Now, I want you to take a second step. Think of all the characters you have dressed up as on Halloween. A witch? Tavern Girl? Movie Character? These characters represent the true self we have been hiding inside. Take that feeling of adventure and mystic and merge it with the inner child we hide everyday.

For the rest of the year, let’s combine our adolescents and adulthood and show everyone around how enchanting we are!

What is the moral of my story? Be yourself. Dig down, find your hidden truth and show everyone how beautiful and unique you truly are! I believe we all need to incorporate a little Halloween play in our lives.
