Aspirations and Adversity
Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.
Jim Rohn
I live to anticipate fall.
My insides crave for it by late July.
I scheme, I plan, and as the calendar strikes autumn, I renew with the change of season. My inner being inspired by shifting winds and cooling temperatures.
Pandemic life removed most, if not all, from my life’s playing field. I made good use of compulsive tendencies to protect my loved ones, and after four years, my return to normalcy ironically timed with fall.
As of late September, I now call home a tiny villa near the Bay, minutes from a historic downtown complete with 100-year-old oaks and an old hotel famed for healing waters. A fresh start, a perfect fall renewal.
Almost. The caveat being Covid. My elderly mother is enduring an extended hospital stay. My father is recovering at home. Married 68 years and separated by little until now.
My want for fall continues, but first and foremost is my family.
I created this magazine for readers to enjoy an escape into the magical during our Covid hiatus. A place to keep spirits up and hopes high. My wish is to return to our collective fall celebrations very soon. I thank you in advance for your patronage and your continued interest.
My best,
Ani
