Travel Log: Fall In Paris

When I was 29, I started making plans for my 30th birthday. I always wanted to go to Paris in the fall so I made it happen. I arrived in Paris the day before I turned 30 and it was absolutely stunning. The air was fresh, the skies were gray and the leaves were on the ground.

While I was walking, I had to stop, kneel down on the ground, and pick up a leaf. Upon examination of this fallen piece of nature, I could not help but smile. To me, this leaf had life, on or off the tree. The veins still had Life in it.  This particular leaf was right next to the Metro station. I wonder how many souls this leaf has seen? I wonder how many conversations did this leaf eavesdropped on. I wanted to take this Parisian leaf home with me but I decided to leave it behind. After all, Paris was its home. Maybe a curious child would pick it up and press it in their favorite book. Maybe this special leaf will live on to tell more stories.

Experience fall in Paris, one of Europe’s most romantic cities. Blooming foliage and street festivals are abundant, and wine tours are active throughout the best regions of France. Autumn is off-season meaning thinner crowds and lower prices. Visit tripsavvy.com to learn more.
